Michael Jones is a lifelong resident of New Jersey. He is an accomplished artist who has received professional training since early childhood. During his early to middle adult years, he strayed somewhat away from the artistic path to focus his creative energy toward music. He was also busy with a non art-related job and establishing a life for himself. However with the passage of the time, marriage to Eileen and the wisdom of his maturing years, he has rediscovered his passion for creating art.
He and Eileen share their home with 2 Wire Fox Terriers, 1 Sheltie and 3 rescue cats. As you can well imagine, the home is full of activity and laughter. Life with fox terriers is like a never-ending roller coaster ride. Michael, Eileen and the dogs are avid participants in various agility, field and earthdog events. The dogs have been very successful receiving many titles and placements in these events. They (the humans, of course) are also active in numerous dog organizations and animal support groups. It is a lifestyle that provides Michael, Eileen and the dogs with a sense of purpose and accomplishment, as well as peaceful contentment. The cats are just along for the ride (just kidding!!).
In the past, Michael’s primary art focus was in creating work that expressed his spirituality, and his interests in Native American beliefs and folklore. While these subjects are still of interest to him, he has gone on to another stage in his artistic endeavors. He has found greater fulfillment in creating wonderful images of animals. These images bring joy, and warm and genuine feelings to both the artist and others.
Michael’s work is a wonder to behold. It ranges from delightfully whimsical renditions of beloved household pets to truly realistic and lifelike portrayals of companion animals and wildlife. His approach is careful and deliberate with attention paid to the slightest detail. These qualities, along with his innate artistic abilities, allow him to render artwork that is unique and visionary. His work is truly awesome.
